The New.MySpace–Justin Made Me Do It

Justin Timberlake and new myspace

In 2003, when MySpace was first established, I had a dial-up modem and used my computer for Word documents and sending email only. Well maybe there was some illegal downloading of music involved but not enough to send me to jail and not enough to warrant a MySapce account. In fact, I rolled my eyes at the “MySpace thing” all the “kids” were raving about, mainly because I didn’t understand it.

When I became a Facebook addict, circa June 2008 when my 2nd daughter was born and all I did was nurse and surf Facebook night and day, I again rolled my eyes at MySpace because it was sooooo yesterday and not the cool thing to do anymore.

But then yesterday, I saw this post on Mashable

Justin Timberlake new.myspace

And so guess what I did? Yep, I signed up for the new MySpace. No eyerolling here. If my boy Justin is involved (as in he is part owner of MySpace now), then I’m in. Though I have no idea when I’ll take the time to figure out this new platform, at least I can say I’m somewhat sorta kinda connected to Justin, which will be great fodder for conversation when I meet him in person, you know, someday.

So what about you? Are you going to drink the JT Kool Aid? Do you think JT’s involvement will help propel this seemingly defunct social media platform into something viable and worthwhile? (And, side note, what do you think of his new song, Suit and Tie?)

If  you do sign up, be sure to connect with the ladies of MomSmack (MaryStefanie & Theresa). Until JT “contacts me” back, I ZERO connections.
